Shelter & Non-Food Items (NFIs) / Winterization Program

Improving safety, protection, and living conditions.

Displaced families across Gaza often live in tents, temporary shelters, damaged buildings, or overcrowded collective centers. These environments expose people to harsh weather, inadequate sleeping arrangements, limited privacy, and shortages of basic household items.

Program Purpose

The Shelter & NFIs Program provides emergency shelter materials, seasonal assistance, and essential household items that help displaced and vulnerable families create safer, warmer, and more dignified living conditions.

Key Program Activities

  • Distribute emergency shelter kits, tarpaulins, and plastic sheeting.
  • Provide blankets, mattresses, bedding, and sleeping materials.
  • Distribute winter clothing and warm apparel for children and vulnerable family members.
  • Provide household non-food item kits, kitchen sets, and basic domestic supplies.
  • Support minor improvements to temporary shelters and damaged living spaces.
  • Install or provide basic privacy partitions in collective shelters where feasible.
  • Distribute tents and emergency shelter materials according to assessed needs.
  • Prioritize households with children, older persons, pregnant women, people with disabilities, and individuals with health conditions.
