Vegetables return to the tables of displaced people thanks to the efforts of the Laith team.

Fresh Produce Distribution: Leith Relief Team Supports Displaced Families in Sheikh Radwan, Gaza

Amidst the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip, and with the tightening blockade and closure of crossings preventing the entry of food supplies, the Leith Relief Team continues its relentless efforts to secure minimum life necessities for displaced persons living in tragic conditions.

Initiative Details and Distribution On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the team distributed quantities of fresh vegetables to a displacement camp in the Sheikh Radwan area, northern Gaza City. The distribution included vegetable oil, baby zucchini, potatoes, molokhia (jute mallow), and eggplants, in an effort to alleviate the escalating food crisis.

Living Conditions and Local Impact The displaced, living in temporary tents amidst high temperatures and acute shortages of water, electricity, and medicine, received this initiative with great gratitude. Fresh vegetables have become a rarity due to market scarcity and astronomical price hikes, alongside the disruption of supply chains caused by the continuous closure of border crossings.

Commitment to Resilience The Leith Team reaffirmed that these distributions are part of a series of campaigns launched to secure food baskets and fresh produce whenever resources are available, despite significant security and logistical challenges. This activity serves as a glimmer of hope in a tragic reality, as residents of the Strip live under a suffocating siege with humanitarian conditions deteriorating daily. Despite limited capabilities, such initiatives remain a testament that solidarity and compassion never fade from the land of dignity.
