Fruit & Vegetable Basket Distribution Project

Freshness, Nourishment, and Care for Families in Need

For many families in Gaza, access to fresh fruits and vegetables has become increasingly difficult due to displacement, rising prices, and limited household resources. What was once a regular part of a family’s diet has become out of reach for many vulnerable households.

The Fruit & Vegetable Basket Distribution Project provides fresh, locally available fruits and vegetables to displaced and vulnerable families, helping them maintain a healthier and more balanced diet despite the difficult circumstances.

The project focuses on reaching families who have limited access to fresh produce, ensuring that children and other vulnerable family members can benefit from essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients found in fresh fruits and vegetables.

Project Objectives

  • Provide fresh fruits and vegetables to vulnerable families.
  • Improve access to nutritious and diverse fresh produce.
  • Support healthier diets among displaced communities.
  • Reduce the financial burden of purchasing fruits and vegetables.
  • Prioritize families facing the greatest economic and humanitarian challenges.

Target Groups

  • Displaced families living in camps and temporary shelters.
  • Low-income families with limited access to fresh produce.
  • Children and families with vulnerable members.
  • Older adults and other individuals requiring nutritional support.
  • Households identified through field needs assessments.

Expected Impact

The project brings fresh fruits and vegetables directly to families who may otherwise be unable to afford or access them. Regular access to fresh produce can contribute to healthier diets, particularly for children and vulnerable family members.

For a family facing hardship, a basket of fresh fruits and vegetables means more than a simple distribution. It brings color back to the family table, provides essential nourishment, and offers a small but meaningful reminder of care, dignity, and hope.

Through this project, Laith Relief Office continues to stand beside vulnerable families and help make fresh, nutritious produce accessible to those who need it most.
