The Laith Relief Team is carrying out a campaign to distribute cheese boxes in the camps of the Safatawi area.
A modest meal, but it means a lot in the midst of war.
In line with ongoing efforts to support needy families in the Gaza Strip, the Leith Relief Team executed a new food aid distribution campaign on April 3, 2025. During the campaign, 500 cans of cheese were distributed to families residing in the Al-Saftawi camps in northern Gaza. This initiative was launched in response to an urgent need, particularly amidst the deteriorating economic conditions faced by many households.
The team chose canned cheese as it is a nutritious, easy-to-store, and ready-to-use food item. Furthermore, it is highly suitable for families lacking cooking equipment or proper storage facilities. This type of assistance contributes directly to improving daily food quality and, consequently, the general health of the families.
Coordination was carried out with local camp officials to ensure aid reached the most vulnerable households. Additionally, the team relied on a clear distribution plan to ensure fairness and transparency. In this context, priorities were set based on a field assessment of family needs, which facilitated the process and minimized chaos.
The team faced numerous challenges, including the closure of crossings between Gaza and the West Bank, which delayed the arrival of food supplies. Moreover, the blockade caused a scarcity of some essential materials. However, cooperation with local authorities helped overcome these obstacles, thereby accelerating the distribution process and reducing delays.
The campaign contributed to improving the nutritional status of the beneficiary families. As a result, many families expressed their gratitude to the Leith Relief Team, noting that the aid arrived at a critical time. Providing essential food has alleviated the daily pressures faced by these households.
The Leith Relief Team continues its efforts to implement food and humanitarian support campaigns in the Gaza Strip. Accordingly, the team focuses on meeting the basic needs of marginalized families. Thanks to the support of donors, the team is able to implement new initiatives that contribute to strengthening community resilience.
