“Laith” brings warmth to the displaced
Amidst the dire circumstances facing the residents of the Gaza Strip, the Leith Relief Team launched a new humanitarian campaign on Sunday, February 2, 2025. This initiative focused on distributing new mattresses to displaced and needy families in northern Gaza.
The campaign was a swift response to the urgent needs arising from repeated waves of displacement. Hundreds of families have been forced to reside in shelters or temporary tents—places that lack even the most basic elements of comfort and dignity.
The team distributed 100 mattresses to families enduring harsh living conditions. The campaign specifically focused on children and the elderly, recognizing their acute need for rest. The targeted areas included shelters and schools that have been converted into refuges. Additionally, aid reached partially damaged homes that have undergone temporary repairs.
The team emphasized the significance of this project, particularly for the elderly, who face daily hardships due to their health and living conditions. Team members reaffirmed their commitment to constantly bridging humanitarian gaps—gaps that have been deepened by the ongoing blockade and repeated conflicts, making the need more urgent than ever.
On their part, the beneficiary families expressed immense gratitude. For them, this assistance was more than just mattresses; it was a means of comfort they had long missed and a sense of security, however simple. This human touch restored some psychological stability amidst the cruel conditions of displacement.
Despite the challenges, the Leith Relief Team continues its work without pause. The determination of the volunteers is what drives these convoys of kindness, providing hope to those in need in every corner of wounded Gaza.
In conclusion, the team issued a call to supporters, urging them to continue backing such campaigns, which are no less vital than food and water initiatives. They also expressed their deep gratitude to everyone who contributed, participated, and helped in executing this humanitarian mission.
