Providing Essential Nutrition for Infants
Access to infant formula has become increasingly difficult for many families in Gaza due to displacement, disrupted supply chains, rising prices, and limited household income. For families unable to provide sufficient breast milk or access suitable formula, infant milk is an essential nutritional need.
The Infant Milk Distribution Project provides infant formula tins to vulnerable families with babies and young children, helping ensure access to essential nutrition during times of crisis and displacement.
Project Objectives
- Distribute infant formula tins to families facing difficulties accessing infant milk.
- Support infants who lack sufficient access to breast milk or suitable formula.
- Reduce nutritional risks among vulnerable infants.
- Support displaced families facing severe humanitarian and economic challenges.
- Ensure infant milk reaches families identified as being in urgent need.
Target Groups
- Infants and young children requiring infant formula.
- Displaced families living in camps and temporary shelters.
- Families with limited access to infant nutrition.
- Households identified through field assessments as being in urgent need.
- Infants requiring specific types of formula according to their nutritional needs.
Expected Impact
The project helps vulnerable families secure an essential source of nutrition for their infants during times of severe hardship. By distributing infant formula tins directly to families in need, the project helps reduce nutritional vulnerability and supports parents in caring for their youngest children.
Every tin of infant formula provides essential nourishment and represents care, support, and hope for infants and families facing the realities of displacement in Gaza.
