Hygiene Kit Distribution in Northern Gaza: Continued Relief Efforts by Leith Volunteer Team

As part of ongoing efforts to alleviate the suffering of displaced persons in northern Gaza, the Leith Volunteer Team implemented a Hygiene Kit Distribution Initiative on Friday, October 26, 2024, targeting displaced families in the Jabalia and Al-Saftawi areas.

This initiative comes in response to the growing needs of families, particularly in light of the collapse of basic services and the acute shortage of sanitary supplies. Therefore, the team was keen to provide essential cleaning materials that contribute to protecting public health within shelter locations.

The distributed hygiene kits included: dish soap, floor cleaner, bleach, face and hand soap, wet wipes, sanitary pads, and laundry detergent. This step aims to secure the minimum requirements for personal and household hygiene.

The distribution was carried out through direct field coordination led by the team’s volunteers at specific points within Jabalia and Al-Saftawi. This organized approach facilitated access to the largest possible number of families in need. Priority was given to the most affected households, especially those living in overcrowded or unsanitary conditions.

In this context, Osama Al-Kahlout, Executive Director of the Leith Team, stated:

“We work with modest resources but with a big heart. We know these materials won’t solve every crisis, but they alleviate part of the daily suffering our people endure.”

On their part, the beneficiary families expressed their gratitude for this initiative, which arrived at a critical time as living conditions worsened and access to life’s basic necessities significantly declined.

It is worth noting that the Leith Team has been implementing voluntary humanitarian initiatives in several regions since the beginning of the war. These activities focus on supporting displaced persons and vulnerable groups amidst the absence of sufficient support from official entities.
