Distributing cheese boxes in Al-Safatawi camps
Amid the dire humanitarian and economic conditions in Gaza, the Laith Relief Team launched a new campaign on April 3, 2025, entitled “Distributing Cheese Boxes,” in the Al-Safatawi camps.
This campaign aimed to alleviate the suffering of the residents and support the resilience of needy families under the ongoing siege.
It is worth noting that this campaign is part of a series of relief initiatives that the team implements regularly, aiming to provide basic food supplies to families living in harsh conditions.
During this activity, the team distributed 500 boxes of cheese to residents of the camps in the Al-Safatawi area, north of Gaza, a region suffering from severe shortages of food and supplies.
Cheese containers were chosen because they are nutritious, easy to use and store, especially given the power outages and limited access to markets. They are also suitable for children and the elderly, making them a safe and beneficial option.
In this way, the campaign contributed to improving the quality of food in homes, albeit partially.
Furthermore, the distribution process was carried out in coordination with local officials within the camps. Beneficiary families were selected based on criteria of urgent need. This, in turn, helped to reach the most vulnerable groups and ensure a fair and effective distribution.
Despite the campaign’s success, the team faced numerous challenges. Chief among these was the closure of crossings by the occupation, which delayed the entry of relief supplies. The scarcity of basic goods, resulting from the blockade, also slowed down the preparation process.
However, thanks to community cooperation, the team was able to overcome these obstacles and ensure the timely delivery of aid.
In conclusion, many families expressed their deep gratitude for this initiative, emphasizing that it helped bridge a critical food gap and provided them with a sense of support and security. They also expressed their happiness at having organizations standing by them during these difficult times.
